To Agree or NOT to Agree - Is that the question?
Article Marketing and blogging about it often comes under the heading of debate of the hour. When I visit the EzineArticles Blog I occasionally find myself in the thick of a debate between EA’s finest and various other article marketers who find themselves dedicated to the premise of building a business online using article marketing to drive traffic to their websites. There’s seldom a day goes by that I don’t use articles for one form or another in marketing my business. And quite honestly, NEVER a day goes by that articles don’t drive traffic to my online business.
It’s easy to get started in article marketing.
You simply write articles and start posting them on an article marketing site (I prefer www.ezinearticles.com for my own work), make your website active and fresh with articles and information you create, sell some product and services from the site, and you’ve got an online business. The problem comes when you start looking for a niche.
Finding a niche that grabs attention may be a real issue. My son-in-law is beginning to capture an audience as Mr. USA a pro-wrestler with his own Blog Site where he’s starting to post information. He’s so new at it, he still asks me to check over his articles before he posts them. (Way to impress mom-in-law - I know!) There are many niches available, that’s just one. There are others available that might suit you better and offer ways for you to participate in the multi-media communication styles of the Internet.
So, what does it take to make an impact on your blog?
Should you always agree with everything that’s said? Probably not. Setting up a topic with some controversy opens doors to whoever happens by. Opinions are welcome if you’ve stated yours. It isn’t necessary to always have everyone agree. It helps if there’s some reasonable discussion among the debate. There’s also the option of having several threads of conversation threading their way through a blog post. There may be some who agree but have a different opinion or thought process. Some may disagree but have a viable solution for either side. There could even be those who neither agree, nor disagree but wish to comment on the topic.
Developing a conversational tone in your blog that allows for multiple viewpoints creates a comfortable setting for those who don’t agree with you and welcome any comments that are relevant to the topic. Back links are a by-product of posting comments. I’ve always welcomed links to actual sites, viewpoints similar or different from my own, so long as they aren’t spamming my blog. Spam isn’t acceptable anywhere, definitely not where it’s going to effect my readers.
Keep your comments in the quality range and feel free to add a link or two to a legitimate website where you post information relevant to the topics we’re discussing. I’d welcome your links, but don’t over do it!
I believe you can make an impact on your blog by posting your views within your niche and inviting others to post their views and thoughts too. It’s important to invite like minded individuals to your site. But it’s also important to leave room for competitors on your site as well. Keep the door open with variety and open ended controversy within your boundaries and limitations.
